Holosun’s Horn of Plenty: 5 Hot New Sighting Systems

Ever since Holosun entered the American market, they have disrupted the status quo.

Originally dismissed as yet another Chinese company, Holosun has surprised the American shooting community with quality products at reasonable prices. This year promises to be a big one for Holosun—here’s what they’ve teased for 2024!

First on my list and the one accessory that has me refreshing my dealer’s webpage is a product that was announced last year, but will finally be shipping in the next month: the DRS-NV, a Digital Reflex Sight with built in night vision. To say I was impressed with the performance would be an understatement. Sure, there are better night vision devices, but when it comes to them the sky’s the limit as far as price. With an MSRP of $1177, the DRS-NV promises an all-in-one unit that takes up the same space as a normal large-sized red dot. For this price I will admit I was not expecting much, but the refresh rate and dot clarity was pretty damn nice.

According to Holosun, the DRS-NV Digital Reflex Sight-Night Vision sets a new standard for versatility, merging Holosun’s cutting-edge red dot technology with digital night vision capabilities. A 1024×768 resolution digital night vision sensor offers up to 60fps, giving users unparalleled clarity in low-light areas.

The DRS-NV features a Muti-Reticle System (MRS) with multiple reticle options. The internal video recording system, along with on-board storage and magnetic USB connectivity, empowers users to capture critical moments.

Most companies would avoid making red dot optics for a specific family of pistol. Instead most companies pick one mounting pattern and then will offer adapters to cobble together a system for mounting optics on pistols. What you end up with is pretty generic fits that work and get the job done, but might not be aesthetically pleasing.

As Holosun grows as a powerhouse in the optics game they continue to offer a dazzling number of SKUs with gun-specific fits like the SCS-P10, a Solar Charging Sight designed for the CZ P10 optics-ready family of pistols. Because the SCS-P10 is specifically made for the P-10, the red dot melts into the pistol as if it was part of the slide and not an add-in. The red dot body fits perfectly length, width and height matched with the slide, including the rear grip serrations.

The SCS-P10-GR (Solar Charging Sight) is designed for CZ-P10 optics-ready handguns. It is designed to attach directly to the slide without an adapter plate, and uses an innovative solar charging system with multi-directional light sensors to automatically adjust brightness in dynamic situations.

The SCS can potentially operate indefinitely with i’s internal, rechargeable 20,000-hour battery. With moderate exposure to bright light, the SCS models charge the battery with more power used to display the reticle so you will never need to change batteries again.

A new addition to Holosun’s Positive Identification lights, the Kurtz (short) is Holosuns smallest flashlight yet. The P.ID-K is meant to fit compact style pistols like the Springfield Hellcat. Don’t let the P.ID-Ks seal size deceive you, because it is a regular mighty mouse.

The Holosun P.ID-K sets a new standard in compact weaponlight, offering a combination of power and precision. Featuring a powerful flashlight with an impressive 1,000 lumens output and 10,000 candela, this weaponlight ensures optimal visibility in low-light conditions.

The P.ID-K introduces redesigned activation switches, with enhanced traction ensuring swift and intuitive control. With its compact dimensions, this weaponlight is tailored to be a perfect fit for most compact handguns, delivering a powerful illumination solution without compromising maneuverability.

The RAID (Rifle Area Illumination Device) is an all-new, high-power, long-gun white light that brings powerful illumination and user-interface versatility. What I love about the RAID is that Holosun looked at the competition and made sure that they included the best features from each of them. RAID features 80,000 candela and 1000 lumens for identification of targets and greater distances. RAID is activated via the included, compact, remote switch or using the included tail cap button. Mounting on Picatinny rails or M-LOK is covered out of the box, and the single rechargeable power source is also included. RAID has an ultra-durable 7075 aluminum body, is IP68 dust- and waterproof, and withstands 2000g of shock.

The IRIS Integrated Rifle Infrared System is only going to be exciting for those of us that use night vision. In basic terms to extend the usable distance of night vision you can use an illuminator to light up an area. But unlike the RAID which uses a white light that your eye can see, the IRIS uses an IR infra-red spectrum laser and laser illuminator. The IR laser is a pinpoint precision dot that only those with night vision can see.

The Laser Illuminator is basically a large fat beam of IR laser light that can be adjusted as a tight pattern, or a wide flood. Unlike an IR flashlight, the Laser Illuminator beats a standard IR flashlight for lighting up things at a distance.

The IRIS (Integrated Rifle Infrared System) is an ultra-compact, class IIIr visible green aiming device with a coaxial mounted class 2m IR laser and IR illuminator for use with night vision devices. IRIS features an ergonomic slider to dial in the IR illuminator between flood and spot. A new electronic selector switch toggles between visible, IR pointer, IR illuminator, or IR pointer & illuminator with LED indicators for current mode. IRIS is powered by a CR123 battery and is activated either from the top-mounted fire button or using the compatible, industry standard remote switch.

The year 2024 is set to be a great year for Holosun—especially if they can get these products out! If anyone can do it, Holosun can.
