2025’s New Guns Rollout: MAC Duty 9 Double Stack

It’s the most wonderful time of the year …

The rest of you can keep your Thanksgivings, your Christmases and Hanukkahs. For me, January is the most wonderful time of the year because that’s when all the manufacturers roll out their newest and hottest guns. This year, it seems to be all about the double-stack 1911, and Military Armament Corp (MAC) has one of the very first of the year: the MAC Duty 9 Double Stack. This newest 1911 offering from MAC was designed in Knoxville, TN and is built to exacting standards by the well-regarded Turkish outfit Tisas.

Featuring a new slide cut design and a polymer grip module, the Duty 9 Double Stack is a hammer-fired single-action pistol. What really stands out about it is that it offers 17+1 rounds of 9mm … and that’s a LOT for a 1911. Built for any mission, the MAC Duty 9 Double Stack features a factory RMR pattern optic cut on the slide and universal light rail on the frame.

The MAC Duty 9 Double Stack utilizes a 5” bull barrel that is QPQ Tenifer-finished with an 11-degree target crown, to keep recoil at a minimum and maximize accuracy. With an overall length of 8.8″ and an unloaded weight of 30 oz., this firearm isn’t ideal for pocket carry, but a sturdy belt or shoulder rig should be more than sufficient for concealment.

The skeletonized trigger has an overtravel adjustment, and breaks right at 4.75 lbs. It has a manual thumb safety and a grip safety, a competition removable aluminum magwell, and comes complete with two Checkmate 17-round magazines, cleaning kit, cable lock, an extra mainspring retainer pin, and premium lockable hard case. MSRP: $1,099.99; Milarmamentcorp.com.
