Yes, the Springfield Echelon is a good pistol. The full-size Echelon is a striker-fired 9mm built around a removable stainless steel chassis, with a deep optics cut that takes most red dots without an adapter plate and magazines of 17 and 20 rounds. Its main drawback is size: this is a duty pistol, not a…
So a firearms instructor walks into a bar … You can kind of think of Rob Pincus, founder of Avidity Arms, as the Elon Musk of the gun industry. After 30 years in the firearms industry, his ideas about what a gun should be are revolutionizing the mainstream. He invested 10 years of blood, sweat,…
Let’s shed a little light on the subject … Readers already know why I like the Surefire X300U (and if not, you can find out why here.) But did you know that there are other accessories for the X300 that not only complement the X300, but make it even better? The main selling point of…
If you are serious about carrying a firearm for self-defense, one of the most important things you can do is add a flashlight to your everyday carry (EDC) rig. It’s the end of the world as we know it … and I’m eatin’ fine! Because of the sensational TV shows the word “prepper” has taken on a negative connotation in segments of the general population. That’s amazing because in the 23 years of my adult life there have been multiple examples of rationing, production…

Picture the scene: Two masked burglars enter your home and head directly to your office. One burglar places his ear to the lock of your in-wall safe and expertly turns the dial, carefully dialing in the secret code…1….2..3…4. Batman’s utility belt is the stuff professional concealed carriers dream of— lightweight and chock-full of the goodies required for any situation. Unfortunately this is not how it works in real life. Even in the military you have to break down different types of combat loads, because it is impossible to have everything at all times….
